Important safety notice for unisex wallets in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the proper and safe use of unisex wallets (leather, textile, synthetic, recycled materials; folding “bifold/trifold”, long “continental”, coin purses with snap, money clips, card holders, wallets with chain/strap, RFID shielding inserts, zip and magnetic closures, metal elements). Since they may contain small, metal or magnetic parts, sharp edges of fittings, and can deform or open spontaneously if overfilled, please follow the instructions below.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Snaps, clips, zipper sliders, chains, and small decorations pose a choking/inhalation hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Check before use: Inspect seams, closures, zippers, compartments, and metal clips; replace any loose, cracked, or rusted parts.
• Sharp/metal parts: Edges of fittings and zipper sliders can scratch skin or clothing; be careful with fingers when closing.
• Magnetic parts: Keep away from sensitive electronics and magnetic media; magnetic clasps may affect older cards with magnetic stripes.

Proper and safe use

• Do not overfill: Excessive amounts of coins/cards increase pressure on seams and closures; risk of spontaneous opening and content falling out.
• Safe storage: Always close the wallet and keep it in a closed compartment of a bag or an inner pocket; keep it within reach and under control in public transport.
• Chain and strap: Models with chain/strap should be fastened to avoid catching on objects (escalators, doors, bicycles); do not wear on a loose strap during sports.
• Ergonomics: Do not carry a bulky wallet in the back pocket while sitting (pressure on the lumbar/hip area, deformation); store it separately from electronics.
• RFID: Shielding inserts reduce the risk of contactless card reading but do not protect against mechanical damage or loss.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Leather: Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth, condition regularly; do not immerse in water or dry on a radiator.
• Suede/nubuck: Use a suede brush and impregnation; protect from water and oil.
• Textile/synthetic: Clean according to the label; avoid aggressive solvents and bleaches (risk of discoloration/damage to glued joints).
• Metal parts/zippers: After contact with salt water/sweat, wipe dry; occasionally lubricate zipper sliders with a suitable product.
• Storage: Store empty or with light contents, in a dry and dark place; protect from prolonged direct sunlight (fading) and moisture (mold, odor).
• Color transfer: Dark/intense colors may bleed onto light fabrics inside the bag; monitor initial uses with a new product.

Specific health warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel in fittings), dyes, and leather agents may cause reactions; if redness or itching occurs, limit contact or choose hypoallergenic fittings.
• Pressure and abrasions: Hard corners, rivets, and thick seams may cause pressure marks when carried in tight pockets; choose appropriate placement.

Disposal

• Sorted waste and textile collection: Textile/leather parts should be handed over for textile collection or reuse; separate metal and magnetic parts if possible. Wallets with electronic components (e.g., built-in LED/powerbank cases) must be disposed of according to electronic waste regulations.

Incidents and contact

• In case of an incident (injury from sharp fittings, skin reaction, loss of contents due to spontaneous opening), immediately stop using the product. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
